Behavioral Health Visits
NOTE: IF YOUR CHILD IS AT RISK FOR HARMING THEMSELVES OR OTHERS - PLEASE CALL 911 BEFORE CALLING OUR OFFICE.
Life can be overwhelming, especially for children, and during difficult times, your child might need extra help coping with what they may be experiencing.
Although it may be of little comfort, you are not alone. Many families are dealing with similar situations, and unfortunately there aren’t enough mental health providers to accommodate everyone. Finding the right fit for your child with someone who takes your insurance is not easy.
Our behavioral health team is here to help. With our vast knowledge of what services are available in the Greater Fall River community, we will work with you to find the care that best suits your child’s needs.
We should further point out that with most insurance plans, behavioral health benefits are separate from medical benefits. Therefore, most insurance plans do not require you to get a referral from your PCP to see a behavioral health specialist, although they usually require one to see a medical specialist. In fact, most behavioral health providers insist that the family, and NOT our office, schedule the appointment, because with so few appointments available, the behavioral health provider needs to make sure that each appointment is kept. Missed behavioral health appointments are rarely tolerated.
For more information, please call our office to speak to our behavioral health team at 508-679-6833.
Lori is our Behavioral Health Referral Coordinator at extension 100. Do not leave Lori a message if you need immediate assistance, please press 0 and ask to speak with one of our triage nurses.
