Welcome to Our Practice

To Our Highland Pediatric Families

We at Highland Pediatrics want to inform you that we are doing all we can to support the effort to slow down the spread of COVID-19 to protect our patients and loved ones.  We are closely following the most up-to-date information available from the CDC and the Massachusetts Department of Health.

We are screening all patients and families about whether their child has:

Symptoms of COVID-19

Come in contact with any confirmed cases

Recently travelled out of the local area

If you think you or your child may have COVID-19 or been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please call and we will direct you to where you will receive the appropriate care.

We also are presently determining how best to care for our patients while following the CDC’s current recommendations to practice “social distancing” which simply means avoid close contact with individuals to help prevent catching the virus and passing it on to others.  Children home from school should stay home with family members and not engage with other children and friends.  Remember wash and sanitize your hands often, avoid touching your face, do not share food or glasses and practice good hygiene.

As part of this process we will be limiting the amount of people in our waiting room by:

Canceling our Walk-In Clinic as of 3/17/2020.

Asking patients who need paperwork to call the office instead of coming in.

Contacting patients with appointments scheduled over the next two weeks to determine if the visit can be rescheduled. We will be rescheduling patients 5 years and older that are scheduled for routine physicals.

Offering Virtual Health for sick visits, routine follow-up appointments for med checks, behavioral health and other type of appointments.  Please call and speak with a staff member about an upcoming appointment you have.

Asking patients to limit their visit to one parent or guardian accompanying them whenever possible (except for newborns < 1 month old), and to please keep siblings at home.

Asking patients coming into the office for all appointment to call 508-679-6833 and press 0 upon arrival in the parking lot.  We will then have you wait in your car and we will text you when to come into the office.

Finally, in addition to our usual disinfection routine, we are implementing additional cleaning of high-traffic areas in our office such as waiting room chairs, counter tops, and door handles to help protect our patients, their families, and our staff.

We will continue to update our families during this challenging time, and rest assured that we will do our best to keep our Highland family safe and informed primarily through our Facebook page, portal messages and our office on-hold message. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Be smart.  Stay safe.  Keep calm.  Take care.
